The Difference Between Praise and Feedback
https://www.kqed.org/mindshift/34778/the-difference-between-praise-and-feedback
This is an article I stumbled upon and is written by an author named Anya Kamentez. This article goes over the differences between praise and feedback. The one thing I knew before reading this article was that praise in itself was something that increases a person's ego such as
"A man congratulating someone else on an accomplishment they had and the man telling the public how much of a great man he is"
That is called praise.
But feedback is something different, feedback is something you receive from someone that is trying to give you some pointers, some advice or constructive feedback in order to make themselves better or to improve. This is called feedback. And this is where the recipient of the feedback is more humble than full of ego.
The one big point I learned from reading this article is this geared toward parents because it talks about parenthood and kids. This talks about how parents should know a balance between giving feedback and praise. Because you praise them too much they become spoilt but if you give them too much feedback especially harsh feedback, then that motivates the kids to rebel.
