Planning
Hey! This is going to be my first post of the semester and this is for the module Multimedia Development 2!
In this blog, I am going to be writing about my research method for writing up the book the whole class is going to be doing. Everyone is going to be taking one topic to write about and do research on that topic and then we will bring it all together and put it in one book. The topic I decided to write about is the Evolution of Multiplayer games. I will also be writing about what happened in our lecture learning about RefWorks and Matrix Methods.
For this week, a staff member from the TUD Blanchardstown library named Lindsay had popped in our lecture to talk about the online library website that could help us research and gather up information for our projects and reading tasks. She started to talk about how to use the online library, what are its features of it, how to find the necessary information and how to search up certain keywords, how to borrow a book online and she also taught us to reference properly and how to organize our work with citations, folders inside RefWorks etc.
Our lecturer was going over different types of research methods as well and there was one method that caught my interest which was the Matrix Method. According to online sources, These documents allow you to compile details about your sources, such as the foundational theories, methodologies, and conclusions. This is a method that would allow you to organise your work in a clean way. I will be using this method to organise my research because our lecturer was giving us a good example of a review matrix. We have the name of the author, the title of the journal, the year of publication and 3 questions about the topic area.

This way just looks really clean, nicely laid out and I can see it all in a well-organised space. We also had to pick a topic that we are going to write about for our book we are all writing together and I picked the Evolution of Multiplayer Gaming. I did some research on this topic on Google Scholars and the online library. I found a few articles that I found interesting about multiplayer gaming and I cited/saved them in my RefWorks for later.
These are the articles I found from Google Scholars and the online library
