For this Learning Challenge, I decided to watch a video on a youtube channel that goes by the name of "zefrank1" and this short video talks about our lives and how much time we have on this earth. In the video, there are 28,835 jellybeans being scattered across the ground and all these jellybeans represent the number of days average that we have on this earth. For example, 365 jellybeans mean we spent 1 year or 365 days on this earth since we were born. The thing I already knew before watching this video is that time is very valuable and we must use it to the best of our abilities. Time is neither our enemy nor our friend so it gives us a choice. Either put off work from now on or use now to build a better life for yourself. And that's what makes life a game by putting in time and deadlines which creates real wins and losses.
They go ahead and layout 5,475 jellybeans (days) which takes us into the threshold of adulthood and that leaves them 23,360 beans left. When they have all the beans left, they go into detail on how humans on average will spend their time.
Sleeping = 8,477 days
Eating/Drinking= 1,635 days
Working = 3,202 days
Travelling = 1,099 days
Watching TV/Entertainment = 2,676 days
Household Chores = 1,576 days
Family and Friends = 564 days
Bathing and Grooming = 671 days
Community Activites = 720 days
After they take all those beans (days) out, they are left with 2,740 beans left. Which are 2,740 days of our life.
The thing that I learnt is that life is incredibly short if you put things into perspective in these means and you will get your answer. The question is, What are we going to do with those 2,740 days? Are we going to spend it doing the things we love? Laughing? Spending time with family? Whatever it is, I learnt we have to make the most out of life because this life is about living and not existing.
